To get involved with activism that provides access to reproductive and abortion care and fights for reproductive freedom, our experts recommend that you explore these organizations. These recommendations are not endorsements, since organizations can change over time, and it’s important to find a group that fits you and your values.

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood provides medically accurate information about sexual and reproductive health and resources for worldwide audiences. With locations across the United States, you can contact your local chapter for more specific volunteering opportunities such as being a clinic escort, hosting parent educators, helping with outreach, and more.

Jane’s Due Process

Jane’s Due Process helps young people in Texas navigate parental consent and abortion laws and confidentially access abortion and birth control. They provide free legal support, 1-on-1 case management, and stigma-free information on sexual and reproductive health. Volunteers staff the phone and text hotline and assist with other tasks as needed, such as administrative tasks and fundraising. If you are a lawyer, you can take a free online CLE course to learn about representing pregnant minors in judicial bypass hearings.

Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRAPP)

Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP) assists girls, women, and gender expansive people who are financially unable to pay for safe, legal abortions or emergency contraception by providing funds to pre-screened, pre-qualified health clinics and doctors. Volunteers staff the hotline (which requires a time commitment), perform routine administrative tasks, assist with events and fundraising campaigns, craft written communication, manage phone calls, and educate people on the use of social media and other platforms.

Trust Women

Trust Women strives to open clinics that provide abortion care in underserved communities. They currently have clinics in Wichita, Kansas (established by the late Dr. George Tiller) and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. People who live in Kansas and/or Oklahoma can volunteer with data entry and other administrative tasks, assist at the clinics as patient liaisons, serve as ambassadors that distribute information at local community events, and participate in canvassing campaigns. Those who live outside Kansas and Oklahoma can volunteer remotely through phone banking.

NARAL Pro-Choice America

NARAL mobilizes people to fight for reproductive freedom, which means expanding access to abortion and affordable contraception, protecting pregnant people from workplace discrimination, and supporting working parents by guaranteeing paid family leave. Volunteers assist with events and participate in lobbying efforts and campaigns.
